Once again , it is spring for this range nurseryman . I have been on the road learn other folks about garden - related topics ; which mean that I have n’t had a slew of time at home working in my own garden ( or writing for that matter ) . tick on the pix to enlarge them and show the photo captions .
This is my busy time of class for journey about the country giving talking to tofellow gardeners who are anxious for the growing season to begin , and for some , like those in the southern U.S. , their gardens are already in full swing . I have it away to travel and have these capital exchanges with same - minded cooks and gardeners , however sometimes I do n’t get enough custody - on time in the garden world .

In the past six weeks , I have been to Michigan , Illinois , Arkansas , and Florida with intermittent return trips back home to Maryland and right now I am indite from Arkansas . The seasons have varied enormously – with temporary worker ranging from gloomy 30s to the XC — and vesture from boots and coats to switch flops and sundress . As a nurseryman , most noticeable to me are the varying microscope stage of plant growth in each locale .
During this busy prison term , it is a challenge to get my web log compose every hebdomad and I lack last week , however , I will do two blogs this week to make up for it . I will remain with my forerunner of springtime introduction after this one which I am compose here . I just intend I ’d share some photos of my recent visit to the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival . This yr I did six programs — two each daytime — The Creative Herbal Homeat midday andNot Just dessert — Sweet Herbal Recipesat 3 p.m. My herbal age bracket and co - author Tina Marie Wilcox joined me and we show the noon demo together . We had great hearing and lots of fun and I recognize a phone number of Floridian gardeners from last class . Of naturally the cast member at Disney were most helpful from pimp fresh - cutting herbs and herb plant for us to share and preparing samples for everyone to taste so that we all had a centripetal experience of rubbing leaf , sniffing and tasting . We give thanks horticulturist Debbie Mola for providing everything we needed and more .
Outside , we pass our free meter love the massive planting all over Epcot and the other parks as well . Although , all of the gardens are telling from aim and murder to a rainbow of colour and a vast variety of plants , some of the container plants wowed me . Everywhere I looked , combinations of vegetables , flowers and herb were spilling out of pots all over the park . Compared to my zone 7 Maryland garden , where it is still spring , it was like the height of the summertime season in Florida . Two of my most favourite garden in Epcot are the magical fairy garden and this class , there is a immense kitchen garden display with Brobdingnagian Mickey and Minnie topiaries dressed in overalls which was amazing .

I bring back home to Maryland to see that the salad garden I planted at home base was doing well and the seed that I had inseminate sprouted and all of the spring shrubs and flowers were blooming . Then I headed for the Spring Extravaganza here at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View , Arkansas . Hopefully , when I get back to Maryland , I will be capable to glean baby salad greens to eat!In the meantime , I am put in some photos for you to enjoy . And a recipe forMoroccan Mint Tea , which we served at Epcot , chef Georgia Ducksworth prepare it with fresh spearmint and a delightful smoky Oolong tea and served it over internal-combustion engine . Mint is another precursor of spring , which I will discourse in contingent in my next blog ; in the interim , savor a toothsome loving cup of this pleasant infusion .
