A garden that mixes the landscape with art
It is Friday , so clock time for another garden tour with friend of the GPOD Cherry Ong ! Today she ’s taking us toTofino Botanical Gardens , on Vancouver Island in British Columbia , Canada .
The 12 - Akko garden has different garden room , many with unparalleled theme and beautiful pieces of garden art . According to the garden ’s guide , many of the garden infinite celebrate the various cultural groups that have live in the field now and in the past , particularly the Nuu - chah - nulth First Nations , early Japanese fishing families , and , more latterly , hippies !
At the bound of the garden are the Tofino Mudflats , which are exposed at small tide and always fill with life .

The garden permit well - behaved , leashed dogs , so Cherry was able to tour the garden with her dear bounder Broccoli .
I ’m not sure if this is a bench , a sculpture , or both , but it is beautiful .
Hauntingly beautiful wooden figure keep watch in the lush cat valium of the temperate rainforest .

The garden ends with stunningly beautiful views of the piddle and pile beyond .
Raccoon Island , visible here , is only an island at high tide ; at low-down tide it is connect to the mainland by mudflats .
A whimsical sculpture honoring the hippies who have been part of the local residential area .

A water garden is filled with the farewell of unnumberable waterlilies ( Nymphaeasp . ) .
I love the simpleness of this piece of fine art .
OK , this may be my favorite ! This gazebo look like it is about to get up and take the air around , or like it is out of a Dr. Seuss Holy Scripture .

All around , the garden play up the innate looker of this unique part of the world .
“ Swept forth ” by Peter Clarkson is a memorial to theTohoku Tsunamiand was made using many pieces of dust that were swept away by the tsunami .
