I ’ve been officious in the garden . Which is why I have n’t spell lately . Hard to write when so many thing necessitate to get done . Here ’s the late update .

WEATHER : How about this crazy weather ? Hot , cold , live . Go name ! That ’s how it is this time of year . It actually hailed 6 inch last Saturday between Harry ’s Roadhouse eating place and Seton Village Drive on Old Las Vegas Highway - a very small section of land . Drove through it correctly after it happened - would not have want to been in that one . Luckily we did n’t get much hail at the farm - thank you universe ! Just neglect us . One supporter of mine was not so lucky and all her veggies got wiped out . Now it is getting warm again .

harvest : Still harvesting sugar and spinach . In fact I pick almost all the spinach as it will gobble soon with the warmer weather and the lettuce will also bolt out soon , so much of that is pick too . The old kale is done now . The young kale quick to go in . The rhubarb plant is antic with many stalks ready to foot . I feel a strawberry - rhubarb gallette coming shortly !

PLANTING : The main garden is about half weeded - Ugh ! But the beds are all cleaned up and quick for all the tomato plant that will be planted next Wednesday . Now I just have to finish weed the pathways .

DRIP system : The drip mold systems are now up and run . I detest it when they act up . Sometimes it learn 2 - 3 days to get everything rifle and not leak . feel great when it ’s done . I ca n’t consider it drop dead as swimmingly as it did this class .

GIANT PUMPKINS : My first giant pumpkin was planted today at my friend , Deborah ’s mansion . desire it does well out there ! Still have 3 more to implant next week here in my garden plus I have some giant long gourds and 2 giant courgette ( marrows ) to put in . I ’ve had trouble the last 3 years with getting any of my giant pumpkins successfully spring up . Hopefully one of the pumpkin will do well this year . I have a plan !

DEER ! : We had some deer add up and eat all the Orach ( which is okay ) and half of one of my grape plants ( which is NOT ok ) . Ate the leaves and the flowers of what woulda been next grape . I covered the repose up with row cover . Hopefully they will not explore and find the plants . There is not much in the main garden to eat so hopefully they will move on . fortuitously they did not eat the garlic plants !

MORE PLANTING : The pepper and aubergine scratch line will be planted the first week of June and the seeds of other warm time of year crops will go in next week too .

Busy time of year ! Phew !
