Tucked away in a tiny corner of the garden this yr , was our Any Age , Anywhere Experimental   Container Garden .

It was our piffling test to see   how our tomato and pepper plants   would uprise in simple containers . And the results for certain surprised us !

clear that not everyone   has the space , time or power to have a traditional garden – we want to see what we could be get successfully in a non - traditional , but still canonical –   container based garden bent - up .

The goal was dewy-eyed . Design an inexpensive and running container garden that anyone , of any years could plant .

It needed to be well-heeled   to create , maintain and harvesting – and economise on distance . It also of course had to create a big enough yield to make it all worthwhile .

For the experimentation , we build and trialed three dissimilar sized container boxes . A 5 gallon bucket size , along with a 10 and 15 congius greenhouse   sized container .

Of all of the sizing we trialed , I have to say that we were both most impressed with the plants grown in plain honest-to-goodness   5 gallon bucket .

We thought that the larger containers might be more generative with more land . But as it turn out , the 5 congius bucket farm the plant just as well . They were   also much comfortable to handle !

We grew three tomato varieties and two peppers in our 5 gallon buckets – and they all performed unbelieveably well .

In fact , our San Marzano , Roma and Jalapeno pepper plant life continue to be three of our heaviest producing plants in the entire garden !

Each of the single tomato plant plant has get closely a bushel of tomatoes over the course of the year . And the   jalapeno industrial plant has   been been just as productive – with heavy fruiting all   season .

The container garden bucket method acting has many other   built in advantage as well . The   wooden cover not only looks great in the garden , it also serve as a strong anchor for the   trellis   – which keeps industrial plant growing strong in the toughest of winds .

The grow boxes also well-nigh eliminated weeding , and made the chores of planting , watering and harvest   a snap .

It just goes to show you that no matter where you endure – you could grow your own vegetables !   I think we are both looking forward to dilate the trial a little more with the 5 gallon buckets next year !
