An Ontario Gardener prepares to share her garden with her local community

Denise Lajoei started create her garden in Cambridge , Ontario Canada 7 or 8 year ago . After the years of work and adding to the garden every class , she was chosen to have her garden on a exceptional garden tour organized by the Cambridge Gardening Club in August . For those of us not lucky to live tight enough to go on the tour ourselves , here ’s a little perceptiveness of her beautiful collection of flora !

The beautiful pinkish goblets of fall crocus ( genus Colchicum speciosum , Zone 4 – 9 )    bloom in late summer / early autumn without any leave . Here in Denise ’s garden , a carpeting of other industrial plant provides a backdrop to these elegant flowers that end the season on a high note . The leave of absence emerge in the saltation , and then die back completely by mid summer .

A diverse collection of perennials and annuals furnish vividness and interest group in the garden . Here , a birdie bath and garden bench invite visitor both human and feather to kibosh a moment and enjoy the garden .

fully grown folio hydrangeas ( Hydrangea macrophylla , Zones 5 – 9 ) lend bright colour to the shade in the tallness of summer . For stale clime gardens , see for change that can rebloom in the summer .   Older , once - blooming varieties can set their blossom bud in the evenfall , and in hard wintertime sometimes block off .

superb garden phlox ( Phlox paniculata , Zones 4 – 8) flush in front of the huge , green efflorescence nous of smooth hydrangea ( Hydrangea arborescens , Zones 3 – 9 ) .

The green flower buds of Sedum spectabile ( stone crop , Zones 3 – 9 ) serve as a subtle , understated prelude to the bright pink blossom to come .
