We initiate our week in Alice ’s Ontario garden , and we ’re staying in the state to visit Lynn Fournier and her plushy landscape painting . She transform her garden into a tranquil oasis after her nipper strike out on their own .

Hello ,

My name is Lynn Fournier and I know in St. Catharines , Ontario , Canada , on the northern shoring of Lake Ontario where we are fortunate to enjoy gardening in geographical zone 7 . My garden is a place of creativity , heartsease , and marvel where I spend many well-chosen hours . When we move to this property over thirty years ago , the yard was dominated by a swimming pool , a giant weeping willow and smoke . Our children grew up and leave and for the preceding ten - asset age , we ’ve filled the puddle and taken our outdoor space in a very unlike direction . Creating topiary has been great fun and over the past year or so , making concrete globe have become a bit of a passion . Is a garden ever eat up ? Never !

One of Lynn ’s incredible topiary , a dead perky fowl light above low - farm plants . Lynn ’s quad is sprinkled with pretty flowers , but it is the succulent , colorful , and diverse foliage that really shine .

However , this incredible climbing rise does steal the show in this space . The light pink flush add a touch of romance to this gorgeous terrace and pergola . My only question is how she ever manages to take out herself away from this idealistic invest area in the summer ?

OK . You ’ve plausibly notice that I sleep with a unspoiled alliteration , but this one is a doozy . Bleeding heart(Lamprocapnosspectabilis , Zones 3–9 ) gets backdropped by a big burgundy tulip bloom ! joke apart , what a starring combination , Lynn .

Some garden photos make me say , “ I can smell this exposure . ” This is one of them in the effective possible room . I know some people find the olfactory property of lilac ( Syringaspp . and cvs . , Zones 3–8 ) too acute , but this is a dreaming for those of us who bask their strong fragrance .

Lynn clearly has an eye for incredible color combinations . Pops of purple allium are the arrant compliment to these vivid chartreuse ostrich fern ( Matteuccia struthiopteris , Zones 3–7 ) .

Concrete eyeball can be such an incredible focal detail in a garden , it ’s so incredible that Lynn has learn how to create her own . take how pricey it can be to buy concrete orbs , learning how to build these modern patch of garden nontextual matter is also great for your wallet !

Lynn describes it best when she says it ’s a situation of “ creativity , peace , and marvel . ” Every glance we got of her gardens felt tranquil , yet disingenuous and not without plenty of colouration .
