Rules for annual and houseplants are a little different , but you ’ll definitely want to makesure you dispatch any crispy leaves and that your works is destitute of any pests . Last year , I broughtfive plants : a fern , three philodendrons and a maranta . The philodendron were entered into the aroid class under the houseplant segmentation and the fern and maranta were in the fern andmaranta classes . This year , I ’m thinking of bringing my preferent carnivorous flora for thecollection segmentation and maybe some hoya for the succulent division ! Everyone has theirpreferences and niche , so it ’s likely you ’ll show up and see flora you ’ve never heard of before .

You’llbring your plant to the state fairgroundsthe day before the show starts , when seller are still arriving and getting set up — you could feel the excitation and expectancy in the air ! You ’ll fill out a tag for each of your plants that will include the section , part , and class that you ’re entering and then the genus , mintage and cultivar of your plant . You canprint these out at home ahead of timeto amphetamine up the adjustment process but they ’ll also be available on Wednesday when you drop off your industrial plant .

I was so anxious beforehand because I was n’t certain what to expect , but I end up feeling so welcome and I ca n’t look to do it again this year . If you ’re a plant devotee , I hope to see you there !
