Learn more : make the Most of a Small Garden

I garden in Knoxville , Tennessee in my small grounds . I have plant thing in this thousand since 1998 . One of my favored garden sayings is : A landscape can be complete in a weekend , but a garden takes a life ! I do n’t do any formal landscaping and my yard , although small , is not fun to pout because you have to mow around all my plant ! Here are some of my darling plant .
Let ’s start with the plants I call iconic . These are orotund and make an impact in the yard .
Castor beans(Ricinuscommunis , zona 9–11 or as an annual)always give some play .

Mybottlebrush buckeye(Aesculusparviflora , Zones 5–9)never disappoints ( this is plant in an almost full mud area so that maintain it in hinderance from diffuse so much ) .
Old fashionedcrinumlilies(Crinum asiaticum , Zones 7–10)put on a show .
Let ’s now move on to some of my favourite other plants , like white Asiatic lily . This one is‘Casa Blanca’(Lilium‘Casa Blanca’,Zones 4–9),so fragrant , I adore white flowers .

My favorite Narcissus pseudonarcissus is ‘ Thalia’(Narcissus‘Thalia’,Zones 3–8),and here she is with ‘ Lady Jane ’ tulips(Tulipaclusiana ‘ Lady Jane ’ , Zones 3–7).This tulip close up when it ’s not in sun , I think it looks like little lip rouge tubes when close .
Cardinal flower(Lobelia cardinalis , Zones 2–8),which the hummingbirds adore . This ikon is a little past full bloom . The red gloss on this plant is dynamite !
My daylily aggregation . Perfect flora for a beginning gardener and most of these were purchased locally and in the late 1990’s – still going strong .

I like to experiment with come . I tell apart all my friends : Just establish it , and see what happens . An unusualnigellafrom seed.–Looks like ‘ Delft Blue ’ ( Nigella papillosa‘Delft Blue ’ , yearly )
seed are such a great way to experiment and grow things “ just because you may ! ” Which explains my broomcorn(Sorghum bicolor , annual)I grew one class .
A late addition bought this fountain from a local native plant rescue . This works has been so unfussy and brainy in the back yard . Swamp sunflower(Helianthus angustifolius , Zones 6–9 )

Over the year I have lost three vast former tree diagram . I appreciate my pink dogwoodholding secure . Here she is in winter .
Speaking of loss – another plant that yield to wilt . My beautiful false indigo ‘ Cherries Jubilee’(Baptisia‘Cherries Jubilee ’ , Zones 4–9)is no more . She had a bang-up life and last for 14 years .
Here is a fillip pic : walking around the garden this nightfall I noticed the ‘ Campfire ’ coleus(Coleus‘Campfire ’ , annual)leaves sprain all dissimilar shades of colors . I have five of these plants in dissimilar places in the yard and the motley of colors as they go dormant was absorbing .
