My DIY solar fountain hummingbird bath works so well for such an easy project that I had to share. You can easily do this and what is great is you don’t need anywhere to plug in for electricity!
My DIY solar fountain hummingbird bath was a hitting on Instagram and Facebook . It is so easy and stinting . When I thought up this idea I knew I require to use mostly thing I had on handwriting .
I scrounged around my garden supplies , basement treasure and even took aside other things I had made.(the terra cotta beauty came from my Terra Cotta Pot fountain)Don’t vexation I will supersede it .
Now I have created a centerpiece plantation owner with a galvanized tub solar outflow on top . It ’s beautiful , dawn here to check it out !

Get Started on the DIY Solar Fountain
bulge out with a deep container , I used a galvanized vintage tub . Mine is about 24 3/4″ across the top and 12 to 18 inches deep .
I wanted to use the larger size bathing tub so I could match a terra cotta stunner in it for the birds to land on .
the Fountain
I bought this Solar fountain from Amazon.(this is the former one I buy , I have been tried a few from Amazon and they all worked slap-up ) I wanted solar as there is no plug out here and I did not want to hale an extension corduroy into the garden .
Several spray pattern heads come with it so expend the one you like . I prefer this one as it has the ok spray which I opine would work best for hummingbird . ( the other tips will get tested to see which I like the best ) .
Items I had on hand
The other items in my DIY hummingbird bath jet are a terra cotta dish with some stones in it and an average black locoweed .
Putting the solar fountain bird bath all together
I used a mountain that was closely the same height as my vat . I sunk it down into the water upside down and let it fill so it would stay put under .
Next I place the beauty and stones on top of the submerge pot and place it so the fountain atomizer will hit into the sweetheart .
I tilt the dish so it will drain into the tub .
The solar fountain has a second of room to move in front of the dish aerial and sometimes it turn and sprays outside of the tub but since the bath is so deep it does n’t run out of pee . It just waters the flowers around it .
Now that I have had this running for several weeks I can say I sleep together it and so does the birds and bee . The hummer now come looking for the spray each morning before the sun has even risen over the Tree to get it go bad .
I just created another for my front garden and judge a unlike solar fountain . It was a few dollar cheap but it does not have as hefty of a sprayer and so far the hummingbird are not using it . I could render lift the bathing tub but I believe I would rather just buy the same solar fountain that I used for this one in the post .
Update:
I have slay the terra cotta dish . The bees liked it but the other birds go to another shallower dish for their bath instead of this one . Plus it create ghost when the water system receded stopping the pump .
have me cognize if you make one ! I believe there is so many slipway we can take this idea .
FYI : Some have commented that they come one that did not work . First , there is a protective film covering the top of the fountain that need to be remove and sometimes line gets trapped in the heart . Fully overwhelm the unit into the water until no bubbles erupt from it . Then allow it float to the top and it should begin put to work . I call this “ burping ” the pump .
