An array of colorful and variegated foliage pairs perfectly with spring flowers in this Texas garden
well-chosen Monday GPODers !
We keep on our expedition to spring garden today by heading south to Dallas , Texas with Cindy Bolz . Cindy has shared her garden twice in the past ( check those submissions out here : outpouring in DallasandCollecting Japanese maple ) , and she always has something coloured and lavish to share despite the intensity of Texas heat energy . A diverseness of flowers are sprinkled throughout her landscape , but it ’s her unbelievable assortment of magnificent foliation plant that really shine .
As I read aboutRhonda ’s beautiful hellebores(I too have scads of them and they are outstanding this class ) I decided to put in some garden photos .

In the first picture you see a six - foot magniloquent weeping Ryusen Japanese maple(Acerpalmatum‘Ryusen’,Zones 5–7),with prominent dingy liriope(Liriopemuscari‘Big Blue’,Zones 5–10)below it on the left . The peep of purple peak are the Chocolate Chip ajuga(Ajugareptans‘Chocolate Chip ’ , Zones 4–9)you will see again in photo five . To the right of the tree diagram , on the stall made of concrete pavers ( 12 ” between 18 ” pavers ) is another cry Japanese maple . This tree was recently usher in by a grower who has not yet identify the cultivar . There are only six of them and mine , for now , is named “ phone number 5 ” .
The second photo shows an ordinary spiceberry plant(Symphoricarposorbiculatus , Zones 2–7)that I placed in a container when I was attempting to check a runaway spell of coralberryin a repeated layer . It has become such a hit in the container that I shall continue to keep it there .
Here is an even good photo , which prove the size of the container .

I jazz variegated flora and the next three photos each include at least one . First , avariegated Solomon ’s seal(Polygonatum odoratum‘Variegatum’,Zones 3–8)withwood fern(Dryopteris crassirhizoma , zone 5–8 ) .
The 4th photo shows purple oxalis(Oxalistriangularis , Zones 6–10)with white-hot - veined pipeline(Aristolochiafimbriata , Zones 7–9).Each summertime I get at least two full oscillation of the beautiful black pipevine butterfly(Battus philenor)laying her eggs in these leaves . This is shortly keep up by a tribe of fiddling black caterpillars munching their way through every single folio right down to the antecedent . Then the leaf grow back and the full rhythm repetition .
Next is a bed of Chocolate Chip ajuga in bloom this springiness with a belittled First Ghost Japanese maple(Acer palmatum‘First Ghost’,Zones 5–9)growing amidst them . I compile Japanese maple and currently have almost sixty .

Also , here is myLittle Henry ® sweetspire(Itea virginica‘Sprich’,Zones 5–9)if you want to let in it .
give thanks you so much for sharing your spectacular leaping garden with us again , Cindy ! Your selection of plants have created a true haven in a big metropolis and it ’s a pleasure to witness its evolution .
