Betsy’s garden in New York

Today ’s photos are from Betsy Kinkade in New York State . She says,“My peak are run of the mill geraniums , daylillies , genus Perilla , cannas , mommy , hydrangea , hosta , etc . , but when you put them into the mise en scene of an 1830 farm firm in upstate New York ( Poughkeepsie , specifically ) , it ’s never less than magical .

“ We household - hunt for two long time before finding the perfect fleck … two pool and a brook , two small wooded areas , meadows with abundant wildflowers , an old orchard ( where both of our children were married ) , outbuilding ( include the old outhouse where we store mulch , a barn and sheds , and a carriage house ) and our home , a beautiful old farm theatre with a solarium where flowers magically bloom yr round .

“ It ’s not formal or fancy . One of the honest-to-god buildings is deteriorate , the surrounding woods are not clear up , the ponds are home to snap polo-neck , and my husband and I do almost all the work ourselves . The old farm ’s beauty is by all odds rustic , but like many sometime places , it is a humankind of delight and delight , and it never fails to make us well-chosen , regardless of the weather condition or the time of year . My limited gardening science are shown off attractively against the charming older backdrop .
