The specific epithet " goochiae(GEW - chee - ay ) honors Mrs. Gooch , the maiden name of the mother ofPhilip Barker Webb(1793 - 1854 ) , an English botanist and collector of plants throughout Mediterranean Europe , Madeira , and the Canary Islands .
